First round of revisions done for AB Provincials

First round of revisions are complete..

We have completed the first round of changes for any athletes that were alone or only had one other person in their division. Divisions with only two people are not preferred as too often one person has had to drop out or doesn't make weight the day of the tournament and it leaves the other person without a match. Changes were made based on the option that you selected on the registration form.

If you are still the only person in your division you need to email us at info@cbjjf.org and let us know what you would like to do based on the following:

Mighty Mites, Pee Wees, Juniors and Teens:

  1. Move up an age class
  2. Move up a weight class
  3. Move up a belt level

Juveniles:

  1. Move up to adult division if you are 17 years old - email info@cbjjf.org for the waiver form and to be moved
  2. Move up a weight class
  3. Move up a belt level

Adults:

  1. Move up a weight class

Masters:

  1. Move up a weight class
  2. Move down to adult division

No-Gi Invitationals

The CBJJF is excited to announce 3 special No-Gi invitationals to be featured at our 2018 Alberta and BC Provincial Championships this year.

This will feature two 8-man brackets, one under 180 pounds and one over 180 pounds. These brackets are to be considered for advanced/expert players only.

In addition there will be an open weight 8-woman bracket.

These matches will be contested under IBJJF Black Belt Nogi rules with one major exception; they will allow the use of heel hooks.  By extension, reaping will no longer be a disallowed position.

These brackets will be free of charge and the winners will get a  newly designed CBJJF championship belt.

As these brackets are in an invitational format, applications will be accepted and athletes selected based on merit and rank.  Preference will be given for previous winners/finalists of CBJJF Advanced divisions.  Please fill out the forms below to apply:

Alberta applications are open until April 13, athletes selected will be notified by April 16.
